mika in christian louboutin men's "louis" sneakers

last tuesday, pop sensation mika performed at the enmore theatre in sydney. the beirut born singer wore an interesting blazer with contrasting stripes and checks details, paired with a white shirt with equally interesting cuff details, and a fluorescent pair of sneakers. where are those sneakers from?

christian louboutin of course. the singer and the designer are both close friends, and the latter designed a few pairs of shoes for mika's tours. i've seen the "louis" sneakers in stores and they bear the same red cut off rubber soles.

christian louboutin has a small collection of shoes for men, and the "louis" sneaker is a recurring classic with different colorways each season. i really like the "mushroom" color from current fall winter 2009 collection, still waiting for the day where i am impulsive enough to make the plunge. the classic "louis" retails for about £390.

zara fall winter 2009 military jacket

remember this jacket from zara? i blogged about it back in october, and jermaine jackson also wore the wool version to an awards ceremony. it was sold out back then, but reader selina emailed me to say it has been restocked at her local zara store in dublin this week, and her husband bought one too.

and so after work on friday, i made my way to zara in london to try my luck.

the staff mentioned that the jacket was only delivered today, and is already flying off the shelves. this was the last one in my size! i don't know if i shrank lately, or that sizes were off for the clothes i tried, but i went a size down and tried on "s", which i thought fitted really well.

the jacket had metallic buttons, not plastic, so that's a good start. i did not mind really, but for those interested, the jacket is made of synthetic leather. and probably because it is synthetic, they were able to achieve that level of softness. it really did feel like napa leather. the jacket retails for £99.


i like the jacket, but somehow i just think i can't pull it off. i can't quite put my finger to it, and as i deliberated, i decided to sleep over it. but i know it wouldn't be there anymore if ever i should return to the store.

jefferson hack in prada and missoni fall winter 2009

on thursday night, style icon and founder of dazed & confused magazine, jefferson hack, attended the london premiere of "nowhere boy" with girlfriend anouck lepere. the john lennon biopic is the directorial debut for english artist sam taylor-wood.

jefferson attended the premiere in a white studded shirt from prada, and a utterly butterly toasty coat from missoni, both from the current fall winter 2009 collection. that is one stunning coat, i really really like it.

the coat was also featured in missoni's gorgeous advertorial, shot by one of my favourite photographers, ryan mcginley.

i think we are all tired of the studded shirt by now. the coat looked ok on the runway, but it looked great on jefferson, as well as in the campaign shots. gosh, he's just 00o00h so hip, it hurts.

COS spring summer 2010 leather sandals

cos is one of my favourite shops. i don't think it is widely available outside of europe, so for those visiting london, a visit to their flagship at regent street is a must. they do really nice functional pieces, with an emphasis on quality of materials used, and keeping retail prices down. when i saw the spring 2010 sandals, i tell myself i really want it. with the sleek thin leather soles, it's less marrakech souk but more portebello market chic.

the sandals were featured extensively in their spring summer 2010 lookbook. i am loving that pair of shorts too, but not sure if i am brave enough to wear them. the shorts will retail for £29, and the sandals for £79.

jamie redknapp in louis vuitton and balenciaga fall winter 2009

back on monday, stella mccartney invited her friends to her store at bruton street in london for her annual christmas lights switching event. she's been decorating her building for christmas every year without fail, and it's actually a delight to walk past bruton street as it adds a lot of charm to the normally quaint street.

footballer/critic jamie redknapp attended the event with wife louise. jamie wore a black cardigan over a white shirt, and kept warm in a louis vuitton cashmere and silk stole from the fall winter 2009 collection.

the stole is one of my favourite items from the show, and was high on my wishlist. was, because the stole retails for £430. much as i like it, i find it too exorbitant.

what surprised me, was jamie's choice of footwear. he wore a pair of black balenciaga leather and nylon sneakers from the fall winter 2009 collection. i would have completely missed that out if not for the interesting detail on the side.

trussardi 1911 spring 2010 feathers/suede bag

try your very best to focus, on the bag. a few days ago this bag was featured in an editorial for the latest edition of vman. totally smitten, i had to take an up close and personal look at it.

the suede leather bag is surprisingly lightweight. measuring at about 40cm in length, the bag is smaller in size as compared to a weekender/keepall, but perfect for everyday use. although i doubt one will want to use this exquisite bag daily. it really is a beautiful creation.

yes, real feathers!

the bag comes with a handy shoulder strap, and a tag with their house crest on it. stunning. & life is too short to be practical. i like want the bag!

for the brave, the bag will retail for approximately £2,950.

pretty green spring summer 2010

did you know that liam gallagher has a clothing range? yea, neither did i! the oasis frontman founded "pretty green" last year, and spring 2010 will be his second collection. i was very shocked when i saw that clean cut blazer, paired with that ultimate must have scarf. what a champagne supernova!

a closer look at the scarf. i am pretty impressed to be honest, i really want one. and in my mind i keep questioning if liam has anything to do with the clothing range. until i saw the coat below:

and so sally can wait. pretty green is one of the new labels that will be stocked at my-wardrobe.com come spring 2010, which isn't that long now. 2 months perhaps! yes, winter hasn't arrived but spring clothing would have!

apl.de.ap in j.lindeberg fall winter 2009

that's a lot of fullstops in my title! it's great watching the black eyed peas as they don't do the box standard black blazer at public events. in an earlier post, we saw apl.de.ap wearing a pair of raf simons wing detail boots on the red carpet. prior to attending the awards ceremony, he visited the luxury lounge (ie freebie corner) in a j.lindeberg fall winter 2009 black leather jacket.

tom meighan from brit band kasabian previously on two seperate occasions also wore the black and blue leather jacket for his gigs. band members love this jacket huh.

will.i.am in balenciaga fall winter 2009

oh.my.god. someone finally wore balenciaga menswear on the red carpet! at yesterday's american music awards, will.i.am from the black eyed peas wore a blackcoat with an asymmetric front from the fall winter 2009 collection. not exactly sure why he added that piece of questionable bacon foil on his arms, but since he's one of the rare few who wears balenciaga (menswear) we should applaud him.

from the fall winter 2009 lookbook. i don't think this is an easy coat to wear. the model is stick thin but the double/wrap layers made him look, mmmm bellyvery heavy.

speaking of questionable, apl.de.ap (i can't keep up with the names...) wore those fierce but bordering on silly raf simons boots with wing details. will.i.am also joined in the raf simons theme, and wore a pair of the raf simons x dr martens metallic boots.

die hard fans, the raf simons boots was £855 but now reduced to £430, available from brownsfashion.com. the metallic raf simons x dr martens is available for £260 from asos.com.

right on the borderline they are.

anthony price x topman fall winter 2009

those who wished that stella mccartney would do adult sizes for the kids band jackets at gap, how about these anthony price x topman military/band jackets?

i saw the special collection online, and decided to try them on in stores. maybe it's a good thing i did, as i took a size down to make the jacket more fitting. i'm a classic eu48/m but i tried on "s" for the jackets. i love the red band jacket, the color is so striking and i really like the gold braiding with the red.

buttoned up...

i really like the jacket, but i actually deliberated for a long time between red and green (below). the red is striking, but that's also the problem for me. it's rather loud, and i'm not sure if i want to pay full price for a jacket which looks like i've got it from the flea market for a fraction of it's price.

i really like the version in green. it reminded me of the gucci fall winter 2007 mohair jacket which i sadly passed at that time. the thing that irks me is that why can't they do the green jacket with gold braiding and gold buttons? it would have been perfect for me. despite that, i bought the green jacket. it's more subtle and not losing any of the quirky details.

i hope i won't regret and return it!

i also tried on this really nice cropped military jacket. the grey, the black, the buttons, the crop, all is perfect, but i can't button them up in size "s" despite it being a really good fit on the shoulders.
