Gary Barlow and Olly Murs at X-Factor UK Birmingham auditions

there has been a huge shake up with this year's x-factor UK's judging panel. gone are (the now infamous) cheryl cole, dannii minogue and simon cowell (busy with x-factor US). replacing them this year are gary barlow, kelly rowland and that girl from n-dubz. it's quite a disappointing line up for me, but before i digress any further...

the first round of auditions happened in birmingham yesterday. despite appearing in one of my favourite blazers from vivienne westwood, gary barlow still managed to look blah. i can't quite put my finger on it, but it's just... a non event.

i really love the styling above, the mahogany colored shoes worked really well with the suit. the waistcoat is attached to the blazer to create a layered look. it's supposed to create a classic and effortless gentlemen look, not sure why it got lost on gary.

x-factor UK alumni olly murs was also at the birmingham auditions to round up support for the new series. he wore a really nice pale blue grandad shirt, which i believed to be from maison martin margiela spring summer 2011. love his shirt, his belt and the color of his trousers, but perhaps a slightly looser cut might be more flattering.
